Of inverted baluster form, the sides rising from a flat circular base to a wide shoulder set with a short neck, decorated in shades of underglaze blue, painted around the centre with Fo-lions gambolling amongst scrolling peonies, all above a band of upright lappets around the base, each containing a pendant pomegranate, the shoulder with a wide band of interlinked foliate cartouches, each containing a lingzhi fungus, the neck with a key-fret pattern, the base with a four character mark reading ‘Chang ming fu gui’, (long life riches and honour) within a double circle in underglaze blue. Period: Wanli (1573-1619). Height: 18 cm.
