The tureens of ovoid form with foliate rim, set with a pair of animal mask handles, decorated in famille rose enamels with the ‘King John’ pattern of two peacocks perched on rockwork amidst tree peony, magnolia and other flowers in full bloom, a border of upright fleur-de-lys around the foot, the stands similarly decorated, also with foliate rims, the covers with an inverted convolvulus finial surrounded by bright floral sprays.
