Of hexagonal form, the tall straight sides sloping gently outwards and supported on six short feet, decorated in famille rose enamels, each side showing a man and woman in a terraced garden in different guises; on one side, they appear to be young, the man holding a prunus spray, the lady a hydrangea, on another side, their faces are wrinkled, the man holds a downturned lotus, the lady a magnolia spray, on further sides, the man is shown in imperial attire, in the clothes of a scholar, and of a warrior, and on each side both of the pair hold a different flower sprig, the bases unglazed and with a central pierced aperture.
