The rounded sides rising from a wide circular base, decorated in delicate famille rose enamels with a continuous scene of birds perching on peony branches issuing from rockwork, a band of upright lappets encircles the foot, the shoulder with four oval cartouches containing blossoms on a lavender ground, the domed cover similarly decorated with a large peony bloom, the glazed base with a double circle in underglaze blue.
