A Derby group of Lovers, circa 1762A Derby group of Lovers, circa 1762The lady and gentleman standing arm in arm and holding between them a garland of flowers made from the blooms gathered in her apron, a further garland at their feet, their costumes coloured in puce, turquoise and yellow with delicate flowers painted on her skirt, 15.5cm high, patch marksThis group was probably intended to represent Spring, although two other examples are noted with grapes instead of flowers, suggesting that it could also serve as Autumn.
