The painting is severely compromised by extensive overpaint which has lightened overtime, probably because it contains the pigment zinc white. The original paint layers appear to be worn and abraded but stable overall. Around the edges of the painting fill has been applied which is cracked and flaking. The varnish is even and semi-glossy. There is a layer of surface dirt including bird droppings.
