The painting of the chicken has been lined. The canvas tension is good and the picture is in plane. The picture of the parrot has not been lined, small damages have been repaired from the reverse with canvas patches. The canvas has deformations across the surface. Both paint layers have a network of age cracks which appear dark. There are areas of wear of abrasion on both paintings. There are scattered losses and localised areas of retouching.
