宗喀巴为藏传佛教格鲁派创始人，被藏族人民奉为文殊菩萨的化身，在藏传佛教和藏族社会中具有无比崇高的地位。唐卡主尊宗喀巴大师位居中央，头戴格鲁派黄色僧帽，宽额丰颐，弯眉细目，神态安详，身披僧坎、僧裙，双手当胸结轮法轮印，两侧攀升莲花，拖举宝剑、经书。结跏趺端坐于莲台之上，身后具光头、身光，背光周围环绕六拏具。莲台下承方台，台前设置供奉。整幅唐卡构图别致，主尊突出，画工精妙，气息祥和，且品相保存良好，色彩丰富鲜艳，更为难得。
