瓶式圆口外撇，束颈稍长，鼓腹微扁，收胫，圈足。此瓶制器匀厚，造型端匀周正，鼓腹下收之重心沉稳，曲线开阖别有窈窕之姿。足内及瓶里施白釉，外壁罩施霁红釉，红釉呈色鲜润，釉表光洁明亮，微现橘皮。此瓶之霁红釉色泽纯净，呈色较为平稳，较特别处在于釉质观感鲜嫩，釉中红、白肌理交织若桃花点点，且釉色随釉层流动之薄厚不同而微有渐变，釉中气泡晶莹明亮，更显釉质水润灵动。
本瓶之玉立婷婷，气质娟丽，其长颈、鼓腹、收胫之造型因稍类橄榄形状，故有此名。该造型康熙已见，雍乾所制稍多，红瓷尤佳，御窑亦有，如北京故宫博物院收藏之雍正款霁红釉橄榄瓶，可供参考。
