Indian Painting of Kaliya Mardan India, Rajasthan, circa 1820. Opaque Pigments and Gold on Wasli Depicting Lord Krishna at the center, in the act of taming Kaliya, by standing on his hood. Female snakes in adoration gesture with folded hands. In upper part females and males are in complaining act to Krishna about Kaliya who has been terrorizing people. Finally Lord Krishna subdued Kaliya. Measurement: 22 x 16 cm.
