A pair of Chantilly porcelain two-handled seaux, c.1755, iron-red hunting horn marks, black Bu. mark to one, of fluted form with flared feet, each side painted with a large loose bouquet, the scrolling handles with purple foliage terminals, brown band rims, 11cm high (2)Note: A larger pair of seaux of similar form in the Muse des Arts dcoratifs, Paris, are illustrated by Genevive Le Duc, Porcelaine tendre de Chantilly au XVIIIe Sicle, Paris, 1996, p. 136. Overall these seaux are in good condition. The colours are bright and fresh and they present very well. There is some minute wear to the brown enamel of the rims, and in addition, there is a minute area of wear to one terminal. These are all extremely minor.
