A Svres pink-ground broth-bowl, cover and stand (cuelle ronde tourne et plateau ovale), c.1760, blue interlaced L marks to bowl and stand, the bowl with incised da [?], the stand with incised al [?], each piece reserved with two cartouches edged with gilt scrolls and foliage, painted with vignettes of pastoral objects associated with countryside pastimes and farming, including bee-keeping, bird-catching and a peepshow, the centre of the stand decorated with two birds in flight in gilding, the cover with branch handle, the stand 22.7cm wide; the cuelle 17cm wideProvenance: With Brian Haughton Antiques, London (according to the paper label applied to the base).Note: This style of painting of pastoral scenes is traditionally associated with the factory artist Andr-Vincent Vielliard pre, who was active at Vincennes and Svres from 1752 to 1790. Similar pastoral scenes can be seen on a 1766 cup and saucer now in the Wallace Collection, London (museum no. 369).
