A Regency ormolu and patinated bronze white marble inkstand, retailed by Thomas Weeks's museum, Titchborne St, London, early 19th century, with a reclining dog chained to an urn on a tree stump, with a further urn and an inkwell on a rectangular base with chamfered angles, 13cm high, 16cm wide, 9cm deep Provenance: purchased from Jeremy Ltd, 17th August 1988, 拢2000.Note: Thomas Weeks established his renowned museum of 'mechanical curiosities' at Nos. 3 & 4 Tichbourne Street in about 1797. The attractions included various animated animals and insects, ingenious clocks, musical instruments, elaborate temples, toys and other such peculiarities that appealed to the London public in the late 18th and early 19th century.
