提要：此书为白棉纸印本，开本阔朗，通篇写刻上板，字数行款不同，字体风格不一，乃书法之佳作。此书妙选辞林粹古之珠玉，旁求墨府会名笔之琳琅，文字上溯屈原、下逮苏轼，由明代善书者如董其昌、陶望龄、黄汝亨等一百余人书之，刻印精美，宛然手迹。正如序言中所说：“是编萃于千载之绮章，合一代之名墨，是龙凤水陆之珍也”。
