A Thangka of Buddha Shakyamuni, Geluk LineageCentral Tibet, circa 18th centuryGround Mineral Pigment on Cotton93.5 cm x 61.5 cm Seated in Dhyanasana with his hands in Bhumsparsa and Dhyana Mudras. With two Principal Disciples, Sariputra and Maudgalyayana, each holding a Khakkhara and Kapala. All Arhats seated vertically along the right and left side and leaves of a Bodhi Tree sheltering Buddha's Head above. And a figure of a Tsongkhapa above the lotus Throne.
