|琥珀是树脂埋藏于地下形成的化石，其性脆易崩，极难施刀，而且其极易破碎，故大块琥珀制品存世罕见，拍品尺寸近二十厘米，实属难得。花插取大块琥珀精雕而成，因年代久远，颜色深沉，开片呈蛛网状，自然古朴。花插三联，中联雕作宝瓶形，两侧分别拟梅和松之形，雕作梅干和松干状，并取浮雕、透雕之法饰梅花朵朵、松枝嶙峋，和依势生长的翠竹，一只凤凰伫立梅下，寓意有凤来仪，意义吉祥。配木镂雕缠枝花卉纹座。
