PROPERTY OF A PRIVATE CALIFORNIA COLLECTOR A FAMILLE-ROSE RETICULATED HEXAGONAL JAR AND COVER WITH LATER-ADDED ORMOLU MOUNTSPorcelain: Yongzheng period; Ormolu mounts: 20th century The faceted jar with rounded walls each centered by a reticulated panel carved with a ' shou ' character between openwork archaistic kuilong , the solid portions of the walls painted with blue-and-white jars amidst shaped cartouches enclosing flowers and pomegranates all against a floral- and diaper-patterned puce ground, yellow-ground diaper bands at the foot and mouth, molded high-relief lappets enameled in blue at each of the upper corners, the domed hexagonal cover similarly painted, elaborate ormolu mounts at the rim, foot, and sides of the jar, and an ormolu finial applied to the cover. 15 7/8in (40.3cm) high, overall Provenance: Ralph M.
