提要：刘承干（1881年-1963年），字贞一，号翰怡、求恕居士，晚年自称嘉业老人。浙江省吴兴县（今湖州市）南浔镇人，近代著名的藏书家与刻书家。鲁迅先生喻其为“傻公子”，陈志岁先生尊其为“笃公子”。刘承干一生痴心藏书，醉心刻书，用心护书。他倾巨资藏书、刻书、聚书60万卷、20万册，并精心设计建造“嘉业堂藏书楼”用以庋藏。
