本书为虞抟所撰，成于正德乙亥年。系据《素问》、《难经》要旨，参以诸家学说，博收广集，旁通己意而成。于正德十年刊行。嘉靖、万历间有重刊本，近代会文堂有石印本。拍品为明正德十年初刻白棉纸初印珍本，流传极为罕见，拍场首现，识者宝之。全书八卷，拍品存五卷，计存卷二至卷五、卷七。虽缺尤珍，识者宝之。
虞抟（1438-1517），字天民，自号华溪恒德老人。今浙江义乌市廿三里镇华溪村人，明代中期著名医学家。《金华府志》中载：“义乌以医名者，代不乏人，丹溪之后，唯抟为最。”与现代名医陈无咎（号黄溪），合称义乌医家“三溪”。著有《医学正传》《方脉发微》《百字吟》《半斋稿》等。
