A discoid tinned bronze mirror with decorative groove around the perimeter, apanied by a discoid case with slightly splayed edge, decorative engraved concentric circles to the upper face of the case; mirror trapped within case. Cf. The British Museum, museum number 1924,1213.42, for aparable Romano-British example. 177 grams, 10.5 cm wide (4 1/8 in.). Ex Louis-Gabriel Bellon (1819?-1899), France. Acquired on the French art market in 2009. Private collection. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is apanied by AIAD certificate no.113-21-189895.
