8th-7th century B.C. A terracotta rhyton with capsule-shaped body, trumpet-shaped filling spout and strap handle, long arched neck with horse-head finial and applied pellet eyes, cut-out to the head forming a pouring spout; old cloth label to the underside: 'r.s.t.t.- / 371'. Cf. The National Museum of Iran, Tehran, inv. no. 1329/3179, for similar form and posture. 875 grams, 25 cm wide (9 7/8 in.). Ex collection of Mrs Elias-Vase, Holland, 1960s-1970s.
