18th-19th century A.D. A large architectural carved wood temple fragment from Rajasthan, India; mounted on a custom designed stand. 2.1 kg total, 71 cm high including stand (28 in.). Acquired from European art market before 2000. Private collection of an Isle of Wight, Hampshire, UK collector, 2015. This beam would have supported a doorway in the temple, being used as a cross-brace, while also providing architectural decoration. [No Reserve]
