A carinated ceramic Cuzco bottle with D-section upper body and conical base, two integral strap handles and slender, concave neck; oval knop to one face incised with a stylised human face, five registers of polychrome geometric motifs including hatched panels, spots, net motifs and annulets. 797 grams, 21 cm high (8 1/4 in.). Ex Juliette Gréco collection (1927-2020). With Crait + Müller, Paris, France, 18,19 and 20 November 2021, lot 414. Often referred to as an aryballoid bottle owing to its resemblance to the Greek aryballos.
