山子石色深蓝如靛，立体雕山形，山势巍峨高耸，松林掩映间亭台隐现，布局精妙之极。整器造型硕大，用料精纯，工艺精美，将材质与装饰之题材结合完美。阴刻描金铭文：御制题携琴访友图，廉折和平理可观，高山流水感多端。相逢底用班荆论，便向松风深处弹。 《清会典图考》中称：“皇帝朝带，其饰天坛用青金石”故，中国古代通常用青金石作为上天威严崇高的象征。
