The online condition report is provided to assist you with assessing the condition of the lot and is for guidance purposes only. The images of the lot also form part of the online condition report for the lot provided by Sotheby's. Any reference to condition in the online condition report does not amount to a full description of condition. The online condition report may make reference to particular imperfections of the lot but you should note that the lot may have other faults not expressly referred to in the online condition report of the lot or shown in the online images of the lot (for example, the online condition report may not specify mechanical replacements or imperfections to the movement, case, dial, pendulum, separate base(s) or dome). It features a white gold open-face case decorated with galloping Arabian horses in cloisonn茅 enamel. The horses on the case back required a total of 18 days of work by the master enameller, Anita Porchet, using opaque, transparent and opalescent enamel colors, a gold ribbon with a section of 0.05 mm and approximately 20 firings.Anita Porchet is one of the most recognized and respected enamel artists working in the watches industry. Since the retirement of the legendary Suzanne Rohr from Patek Philippe, Porchet is acknowledged as the greatest enameller in the Swiss watch industry today. She was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the very heart of Switzerland鈥檚 fine watchmaking region. And it is precisely in the luxury watchmaking industry where she has become famous for the splendid dials and cases that she skillfully decorates with the sophisticated enameling techniques of cloisonn茅, champlev茅, plique-脿-jour, Grand Feu, paillonn茅 and miniature painting. She has created works of miniature art for many major watch houses including Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, Faberg茅 and many others. We are pleased to present this unique pocket watch in excellent condition, accompanied by the original 18k white gold watch stand on a black-veined marble base, for the first time to the Auction market.
