撇口，长颈，削肩，长腹下收，圈足放大，远观似一尊亭亭玉立的观音，因而得名观音尊。此器通体施以郎窑红釉，釉层较厚，有细密的冰裂纹，色泽自口沿以下渐深，近足处几呈黑色，这是因为有在高温下自然流淌集聚器下所致，故有“脱口垂足”之称。郎窑红釉是以铜为着色剂的高温釉，因系此品种为康熙时督陶官郎廷极创烧成功，因而得名。
