In 1654 James Boevey transferred the Flaxley estate to his half brother William who in turn gifted a share to his sister. Upon the death of William in 1661 Joanna and Abraham bought out her sister-in-law, who had inherited William's interests in Flaxley, and lived there with their son Abraham the Younger.
