作者简介：王礼(1813-1879)，字秉礼，亦字戴传、秋言，一作湫言，号秋道人、秋道士、蜗寄生、雪蕉、白蕉研主、红梨逸史、梵天壶隐，又署阿大、公之犹，室名延秋款冬之室。江苏吴江人。“海上画派”重要代表画家。早年从苏州名画家沈荣(石芗)学习绘画。善画花鸟，上宗北宋，近师白阳、南田，人物宗陈老莲，不袭其貌。从沈石乡学写花鸟，劲秀洒脱，笔如刻铁；风格冷峭新奇，隽雅鲜活，令人意爽。后长期居住上海卖画为生，赏识者不多。偶尔沪上画坛名家张熊见到王礼的绘画，赞不绝口，广泛向艺林推荐，才名声鹊起。当年任伯年初到上海谋生，曾向王礼学习花鸟画
