缂丝古有“一寸缂丝一寸金”、“织中之圣”之称。由于经得起历史的考验，又被称之为 “千年不坏艺术织品”。缂丝是中国丝绸工艺品中的精华，在明清两代为帝王御用，皇室所垄断。
此幅缂丝阿弥陀佛屏，主尊全跏跌坐姿结禅定印，一株宝莲自海面升起，盛开三层莲瓣宝座将佛祖托于海上。佛祖螺髻，额宽颐丰，眉目修长，大耳垂肩，双目微合俯视，仿佛俯看芸芸众生。身着汉式僧衣宽袍，色彩古艳，轻薄柔软，褶纹均衡疏朗。
整幅图画构图简明，用色庄重、富丽、谐调，佛像整体比例适度，形象端庄，波涛汹涌的海面更显佛祖恬淡安详之色，虽历经数百年仍色泽鲜亮，实属难得珍品。
