The horn of warm amber tone with a smooth patina. The material shows its typical texture. Matching carved wooden stand. Neatly incised two-character seal bearing the artist name ‘Fu’an‘.. China, 17th century

The horn widening at the mouth and carved with an idyllic scene of a scholar standing in a small cottage located in a rocky grotto surrounded by pine, palm and mulberry trees. Next to it a pair of lofty pine trees forming the handles. The reverse shows a fisherman on a riverbank and another scholar with two pupils in a flat boat. The scene is dominated by masterfully carved rocks, pine trees and the waves of the river. The interior rim is set with a pine tree ‘breaking through’ from the exterior, a design that somewhat became a ‘trademark’ of Zhou Wenshu.

Shape: Natural rhinoceros horn shape
Dimensions: 14 x 10 x 8 cm. Height of stand: 8 cm.
Condition: Good condition with minute fissures and pitting consistent with age. Minor loss to leaves at top and lower branch of mulberry tree. Old wax fill to lip (15mm) and to handle (12 mm). Pin hole at interior pine branch. The stand with minor breaks and losses.

十七世紀周文枢風格犀牛角彫山水杯
琥珀色犀牛角，包漿細膩。有犀牛角特有的紋路。木雕底座。
落款“付庵”
中國，十七世紀
角杯由下往上漸寬，表面雕刻著田園詩般山水場景。林間一位
文人立於林間崖下茅草屋中，一旁松樹環繞。另一邊的河岸上
有一漁夫，另一位文人正與他的童僕立於小舟上。四周精工雕
刻的岩石、松樹與河流。内邊緣有一顆松鼠，大有穿越之勢，是
周文樞作品的重要標志。
形狀：自然犀牛角形
尺寸：14 x 10 x 8厘米；底座高8厘米
品相良好，有微小的裂縫符合年代痕跡。松鼠頂部和下部分有
一些缺失。老蠟填充唇部（15厘米）與執柄部位（12厘米）。松
樹枝幹上有針孔。底座有些微裂紋。，
