Rare Chinese Oil on Canvas identified in chalk to back bottom of frame: "Mrs. Wm Hamilton"; in a vintage Chinese carved and lacquered wood frame probably original to the art. Height of art 16 inches (40.5 cm.) X width of art 13 inches (33 cm.). Approximate height of frame 20 inches (50.8 cm.) X width of frame 17 1/4 inches (43.8 cm.). NOTES: This painting may have used period hand-tinted photography of the subject for exact details. The Hamilton Family was involved in Chinan fu, now Jinan, in Shandong Province at the American Presbyterian Medical Mission. There is a chronology for the family attached to the back of this painting.
