此对板为金丝楠木制，选材讲究，正面铲地浮雕双龙赶珠，如意祥云之间，巨龙探身上窥，毛发上扬飘举，追逐戏珠，神态威猛，龙爪张弩，矫健有力，气宇轩昂。背面色呈浅橙黄，略灰，木质温润平和，细腻通达，纹理淡雅文静，向阳视之，灿若云锦。
历史上，楠、樟、梓、椆并称为四大名木，而楠木被冠以其首。在中国建筑中，金丝楠木一直被视为最理想、最珍贵、最高级的建筑用材，在宫殿苑囿、坛庙陵墓中广泛应用。根据《博古要览》楠木有三种，包括香楠、金丝楠、水楠，其中以木纹里有金丝的金丝楠为最佳。
