Colonial Schooll. 18th century. "Saint Francis Xavier baptising Natives" Oil on panel. 40,5 x 56 cm. Jesuit missionary, born in the Castle of Javier, Navarra in 1506, died in China in 1552. He is depicted in one of the most habitual phases of his life, in which he prays to Native Americans. He is wearing a cassock, surplice and stole and holds a crucifix in his hand.
