Group of early potteryChinese, Han periodto include a painted pottery incense burner the lid painted with red, white and beige scrolls, supported by three squat feet, 12cm high, a Ban-chiang style vessel, with a flared rim and foot joined by a slender stem, decorated with red swirls and rings on a white ground, 15.5cm high, a pottery ding and cover, decorated with white and reddish buff bands, the cover shaped as an upturned bowl with holes perforating at the base 19.5cm high and a pottery dish with a pale glaze, 31cm across (4)Provenance: From the collection of the late Professor R M Hicks, OBEIncense base is damaged and has been filled to one side with clay, other condition issues, vessel overall wear, consistent with age and use.
