A JAPANESE GOLD AND BLACK LACQUER KODANSU (CABINET) MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY Of rectangular shape, with a pair of hinged doors to the front and a single drawer below, the interior with seven further drawers of various sizes, the exterior richly decorated with large ships sailing on lakes, with cranes flying above and Mount Fuji towering in the distance, the panels framed by borders or geometric patterns; the reverse of the doors embellished with large depictions of birds of prey and the inner drawers decorated with many cranes in flight, 51cm x 54cm x 34.5cm.
