A JAPANESE CAST-IRON TEA KETTLE AND COVER, TETSUBIN MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY The faceted octagonal body decorated to one side with a scholar by a pavilion in a mountainous river landscape, the reverse with a boat sailing on a lake, a band of key fret to the neck, the lid with an openwork finial and signed Ryubundo zo underneath, 24cm. (2) Provenance: from the collection of Dr Oliver Impey (1936-2005), and Dr Jane (Mellanby) Impey (1938-2021), of Cumnor Place, Oxford.
