ITO JAKUCHU (1716-1800) EDO PERIOD, 18TH CENTURY A Japanese kakemono (hanging scroll painting), ink on paper, depicting two large bamboo branches and further vegetation growing below, sealed To Jokin in and Jakuchu koji, with tomobako wood box labelled `Jakuchu, Bamboo` and inscribed both on the cover and to the reverse, 112cm x 30cm. (2) Provenance: from the collection of Dr Oliver Impey (1936-2005), and Dr Jane (Mellanby) Impey (1938-2021), of Cumnor Place, Oxford.
