PLATE WITH COAT OF ARMS FROM THE 'FERRERO SERVICE'. Meissen. Date: around 1740. Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colors and gold. Description: Narrow rim with slightly wavy, golden edge. In the mirror a finely painted carnation. In addition, various smaller flowers and insects on the rim and in the center. Rim decorated with a coat of arms held by two fish-tailed creatures in front of ermine drapery. Measurement: ø 24cm. Mark: Swordsmark. Provenance:Private collection Hamburg, acquired at Johann Ofner, Bahlburg Antiquitäten.The service was given to the Italian statesman Carlo Francesco Vincenzo Ferrero, Marquis d'Ormea (1680-1745), presumably during his activities as an ambassador in Dresden.
