SHYAMA TARA/SYAMATARA. Origin: Tibet or Mongolia. Date: 18th/19th century. Technique: Gold plated copper sheet with colored glass decorations. Description: Tara, "the savior" in her green manifestation sits in ardhaparyanka on the double-row lotus throne. The left leg pulled against the body, the right leg stretched forward. The right hand originally held a now lost lotus branch in a gesture of sprinkling sanctified water. The left hand originally held a lotus branch as well and is raised at chest level as part of the same gesture . Clothed with dhoti and scarf as well as jewels. The hair piled up to a large knot. The body parts uncovered by the robe are decorated with cultic paintings. Measurement: Height 15,5cm. Provenance:Private collection Cologne. 品相报告: - Signs of wear due to age, such as rubbing, soiling and bumping.- Tip of the hair knot and parts of the robe broken off and missing. - Glass trimming partially lost. - The copper sheet partially dented and/or bent.
