Victorian Scottish mahogany-cased 8-day painted dial longcase clock, the 13-inch circular Roman dial signed 'Dan'l C. McKay Glasgow', with subsidiary seconds and calendar rings, knopped four-pillar 8-day movement with anchor escapement, striking on a coiled gong, in a drum-head 'keyhole' form case, the vertically-opening hood door hinged behind the cresting, the entire front of the trunk unusually hinged as a single section, with integral broadening glazed panel between leaf-capped canted corners, on flared base, 208cm high, sold with two brass weights, the pendulum with turned wooden rod and cylindrical brass bobThe dial does have some crazing to the finish, flakes/losses and there are areas that have yellowed, etc. The case is structurally sound, though the finish is a little tired and some people may wish to have the case re-polished. Some small cracks and openings of joints, and the usual wear to corners and edges. We do not guarantee the movement or accuracy of timepieces, and we have not tested this clock. The movement is a bit dusty and would probably benefit from a service/clean. The chiming does not appear to line up with chime. Please see our for a series of images of this lot.
