Nei volti e nelle enfatiche gesta la tela trova un buon conforto attributivo se avvicinata a quella dello stesso soggetto, in collezione privata, esitata da Sotheby's nel 2001 e pubblicata a pagina 98 del volume Bortoloni Piazzetta Tiepolo il '700 Veneto. La pala, sempre del medesimo soggetto, è conservata nel Duomo di Asolo e riconosciuta autografa del Balestra nel 2015, dopo il restauro. In the faces and emphatic deeds the canvas finds a good attributive comfort if approached to that of the same subject, in a private collection, hesitated by Sotheby's in 2001 and published on page 98 of the volume Bortoloni Piazzetta Tiepolo il '700 Veneto. The altarpiece, always of the same subject, is kept in the Cathedral of Asolo and recognized as an autograph by Balestra in 2015, after the restoration. The aesthetic and technical factors lead to attribute the canvas in question to the Veronese master Antonio Balestra or to a prominent element of his workshop or circle, capable of expressing himself according to the style of the master.
