the jar H:46cm. overallA Fine 'rose-verte' Three Vase Garniture, Yongzhengcomprising one baluster jar and cover and a pair of beaker vases, each richly enamelled, in characteristic bright palette, with a butterfly above a flowering peony tree and a fruiting and flowering pomegranate, their gnarled trunks growing beside stylish garden rockwork, between a lappet border on the angled foot, and a pink ground flowerhead band at the top, the domed cover of the jar with onion knopOriginally the property of a family in the East of HollandThis unusual shape of vase and beaker, which is angled above the foot, derives from a Japanese Imari form of the seventeenth century. This type only seems to appear in fine Chinese Export porcelain during the Yongzheng reign period.
