A PAIR OF SEVRES PORCELAIN COFFEE CANS AND SAUCERSCIRCA 1765Decorated in an undulating pattern of scallop-shells in blue, turquoise and gilt, blue interlaced 'L's' marks with dot but no date letter, one can incised CL.The cans 4.5cm high, the saucers 10.5cm diameterProvenance: Private Collection, Somerset and thence by descent. Cf. An almost identical example of a cup and saucer (gobelet 'Calabre' et soucoupe) can be found in the Wallace Collection, Manchester Square, London. Slight variation to the saucer design.
