端石宜砚，作香盒者甚少。此香盒端石为材，形体扁薄大方，周正规矩。盖面微弧近平，直壁，盖、身子母口相合，平底。盖面精琢麻子地，以高浮雕之法饰折枝牡丹纹，画面正中一朵硕大的牡丹花烁烁正放，枝干柔韧，叶片翻卷，阴阳相背，写实而清丽。
