The panel is beveled on the reverse on all four sides. The grain direction is vertical. The panel is sound. The paint and ground layers are stable, with no signs of flaking or recent losses. The painting has relatively recently been skilfully restored. The existing varnish and most recent retouching have not discoloured or degraded to a significant degree. There is some minor discrete more recent retouching.
