After Andrea del Sarto (Italian, 1486-1530) Madonna of the Harpies Oil on canvas 54-1/2 x 41-1/2 inches (138.4 x 105.4 cm) Madonna of the Harpies, possibly del Sarto`s most famous work, was executed between 1515 and 1517 for the church of San Francesco dei Macci in Florence. This original altarpiece, painted on panel, now resides in the Uffizi Gallery. The present work faithfully copies del Sarto`s dynamic composition in each detail.
