A pair of small blue and white vases, Kangxi period, c. 1700, China, Decorated with flowering lotus and a pale cafe-au-lait (fawn-coloured) trim on the top rims. Not marked. 7 and 6.5 cm, Crazing of the glaze. A tiny frit to one top rim. No chips or hairlines and no restoration. The property of a Dutch nobleman.Provenance: Johannes Bieruma Oosting (1842-1902) and his wife Cornelia Charlotte Brantsma (1848-1894), by descent to their daughter Agatha Victoria Bieruma Oosting (1875-1968). And by descent to the present owner.
