A hexagonal famille rose pattipan, Yongzheng/Qianlong period, first half 18th century, China, The centre showing a lady scholar seated on a rock holding a lingzhi and surrounded by flowers and a bat in the sky. Not marked. D 13.8 cm, A star crack in the base and some wear/loss of the enameling. No other damage and no restoration. The property of a Dutch nobleman.Provenance: Johannes Bieruma Oosting (1842-1902) and his wife Cornelia Charlotte Brantsma (1848-1894), by descent to their daughter Agatha Victoria Bieruma Oosting (1875-1968).
