A blue and white Japanese porcelain 'Frederik van Frytom' style dish, Ca. 1700, Japan, This unusual dish belongs to a group of distinct designs in underglaze blue and white found on Japanese dishes from around 1700, often associated with Frederik Van Frytom (1632 – 1702), a Dutch artist who is known to have produced blue and white pottery in Delft with scenic landscapes. Marked with an apocryphal Chinese Chenghua mark (Ming dynasty, 1465-1487).
