此砚屏制作考究，以紫檀为框，内嵌青花瓷板，瓷板呈长方形，绘饮老翁酒作乐图。青花发色雅致，笔触细腻，砚屏是文房四宝的衍生品，形制与独扇式座屏相同，但形体较小，常置几案上以障风尘、防止墨干。此砚屏古朴典雅，为文房佳器。
